Matthias Leitner

Case Worker / Administrator
Certified Case Worker Accounting (Edupool / KV Switzerland / VEB)
Currently studying for Certified Fiduciary, Federal Diploma of Higher Education

Responsibilities
Accounting and tax returns for all cantons

Career
After my apprenticeship as an office administrator at one of the largest Swiss employers and a few years in customer service, I made the choice to specialise in accounting. While working in the accounting department of a medium-size Non-Profit Organisation, I completed my accounting diploma at KV Business School, Zürich. At the company my tasks included, managing the financial accounting needs of the NPO as well as managing accounts payable and receivable. I gained experience in areas such as invoicing, payments and collection procedures; interim and annual financial statements including cashflow analysis and financial planning. I was also responsible for preparing the annual statements, providing them to management and working with the auditors.

After successfully completing my accounting caseworker education, I was employed by a large international NPO, where I was responsible for many profit-centre accounts (accounting projects with cost centres). Additionally, I was the project leader for the implementation of Swiss GAAP FER 21. During the changeover period, it was necessary to adjust the previous procedures to create a uniform accounting structure. I redefined the entire chart of accounts, specifying where each account was allocated. To support the financial board, I created a rolling wave cashflow plan and prepared the annual audit.

I have a strong flair for numbers. With my work experience in Non-Profit Organisations, I can meet the needs of our clients and enjoy solving troublesome accounting issues. I am highly motivated to find solutions for the many accounting complexities that our Aconta customers have.
